(February 23, 1934 - September 29, 2015)
Dr. Robert Curvin was a world-renowned expert on urban politics, economic development and social policy. Curvin was a distinguished Senior Policy Fellow at the Edward J. Blaustein School of Planning and Public Policy of Rutgers University. He was the former President of the Green tree Foundation, VP and Director of the Ford Foundation Urban Poverty Program, Dean of the Graduate School of Management and Urban Professions at the New School for Social Research. At the time of his unfortunate passing, he served as chair of the Board of Trustees of the Fund for the City of New York and a member of the boards of the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute and Youth Build USA. His recent book, Inside Newark: Decline Rebellion and the Search for Transformation, reflects years of study and over 200 interviews and insights that only Mr. Curvin could provide.
We are extremely grateful that Dr. Curvin agreed to join us in our efforts to establish the Donald M. Payne, Sr. Global Foundation. He was an extremely insightful, contributing member of our foundation. We truly miss him.
